1099s. They’re going to be here before you know it. We’re going to be issuing them out to our subcontractors. Make sure now that you have a W-9 filled out to test their name, address, Social Security or Federal ID number. Make sure that information is correct because the IRS does charge a penalty or charge a fine if you don’t file 1099s. If they’re filed incorrectly and you can’t justify it, make sure you have the information now before the crazy season starts and then it’s a lot harder to track them down. And my suggestion, never give someone a check without them completing a W-9 form if they’re a subcontractor.
