We are finding more people are paying more money this year. Part of it is because of multiple jobs. If you start a new job after you’ve already worked and made 20 or 30,000, then you start another one. They’re going to start the tax code all over again. So people are finding they may owe money. Same thing if you have the advanced tax credit on the child tax credit because they’re going to end up having to pay that money if you owe the IRS. Don’t delay. Set up a payment plan at the time that you’re filing your taxes. Don’t wait for the IRS to send you a love letter. Don’t wait for them to contact you. The easiest way is to start making your payments so you don’t owe them as much when the time comes.
